From idea to screenplay. With clarity, structure, and intention.
Les Films d’en Face was created by Alexandra Ramniceanu, screenwriter and producer, trained at New York University, and long-time lecturer at EICAR.
After more than two decades developing independent films and international co-productions — including Dhalinyaro and Ceci n'est pas une guerre — Alexandra created a space dedicated entirely to one thing: helping authors turn an initial intuition into a strong, coherent screenplay.
Here, you don’t “learn screenwriting.”
You work.
You rewrite.
You clarify what your story is really about.
Les Films d’en Face offers two distinct paths:
-
Fiction screenwriting workshops, led by Alexandra.
-
Documentary mentoring, conducted in Paris by filmmaker Nathalie Borgers.
-
Different approaches.
One shared goal: developing stories that matter — and scripts that can stand on their own.
Screenwriting Workshops & Documentary Tutoring
What to expect ?
-
Fiction – Short films, features, series
A demanding writing space for fiction projects in search of form, rhythm, and meaning. These workshops are designed for authors working on a short film, feature, or series who need to clarify their story, strengthen its dramatic architecture, and make decisive narrative choices.
The work moves between exploration and precision: identifying what the project is truly about, developing characters and tension, and shaping a script that can hold both emotionally and narratively.
The workshops are led by screenwriter and producer Alexandra Ramniceanu.
This is not about applying formulas.
It is about building a story that carries intention, coherence, and voice.

Documentary – Tutoring with Nathalie Borgers
A high-level mentoring space for documentary projects at a decisive stage — whether you are emerging or experienced.
This program is designed for filmmakers who have a documentary project they want to clarify, deepen, and prepare for the next step: defining a strong point of view, structuring the narrative, conducting meaningful research and fieldwork, and building a professional dossier.
The work is rigorous, focused, and grounded in practice.
There is no predefined level required — only a project to develop, and a willingness to engage seriously with the process.
The mentoring is conducted in person in Paris by filmmaker and FEMIS lecturer Nathalie Borgers.
This is not an introductory course.
It is a working space for projects that need clarity, structure, and direction.
