Les Films d'en Face offers professional support for documentary filmmakers with Nathalie Borgers, director of over 25 films and long-time tutor at La FÉMIS in Paris.

Between the idea and the script, there’s often a gap.
This tutoring program helps you bridge that gap, by clarifying your point of view, structuring your narrative, and writing a script that is solid, precise, and deeply personal.

You can choose between a one-on-one format or a small group workshop (maximum 4 participants).

A rigorous and comprehensive support

• Discussions around the documentary's stakes

One-on-one Tutoring

A fully personalized format, designed to adapt to your pace and your project’s needs.​​

  • 6 sessions (3 x 3h and 3 x 2h), scheduled flexibly based on your availability

  • Writing begins from the fourth session

  • Possibility of external input from:
     • Juliette Cazanave (producer, Kepler 22)
     • Olivier Daunizeau (narrative consultant)

This format is ideal for authors who prefer a tailor-made approach, with space for deep, focused exploration and a flexible calendar.

Group Tutoring (up to 4)

An intensive, collective format combining individual guidance and the strength of group dynamics.
Limited to 4 participants.

  • 6 sessions: 4 half-days (4h) and 2 full days (7h). Contact us for the next session dates

  • Weekly assignments between sessions (research, scouting, writing)

  • In-depth group discussions and cross-feedback on each project

  • 2 external guest speakers invited to enrich the process

This format offers a demanding yet supportive environment, where each participant benefits from shared insights and a regular creative rhythm.

  • A 2-page presentation of your documentary project

  • A 1-page letter of motivation

  • Your CV

Selected applicants will be invited to a short individual interview between September 5th and 12th.


Final selection will be confirmed on September 15th.
